The ability to drag and drop instruments into the various components making up the system as well as the components themselves makes for quick and easy viewing of essential data.

At the heart of the system is the ability to create an unlimited number of portfolios. You have complete control over the information presented in each portfolio by selecting, in addition to the default fields, information from intraday data, end of day data, basic ratios, graphics, news alerts and even the ability to create your own ratios and present these in a portfolio.

Most navigation can be performed directly from the created portfolios.

1. Quick reference window allows you to view user defined trade data for an instrument without first having to save the instrument to a particular portfolio.
    

2. Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE): The ability to directly and in real time update prices to an Excel spreadsheet proves invaluable when running pricing models requiring the freshest data as well as portfolio valuations and performance reports. Once the DDE server has been opened, the system does not require the front end to be open to update to Excel.
    

3. Market Statistics: Get a full market overview including number of counters traded up, down and unchanged for the day. This tool also provides top twenty gainers, losers, and volume and value leaders updated in real time.
    

4. Market Map provides an up to the minute visual performance and volume summary of one or more portfolios.
    

5. Selective Ticker: See each trade as it happens within a predefined universe of instruments as created by you.
    

6. Super Ticker: See details of each market trade as it happens by viewing the scrolling ticker.
    

7. Technical charting: A comprehensive technical charting application has been built into MarketFocus providing you with the following graphing options:
    

   1. Select graph style (line - close, candlesticks, HLC, Bars – OHLC)
       

   2. 39 technical indicators allowing for user defined period settings for each. Also included are default period settings for each.
       

   3. Create chart studies such as Fibonacci fans and retracements, speed resistance and trend lines.
       

   4. All underlying chart data, including data used to plot the technical indicators may be viewed as text and copied to Excel.
       

8. SENS News: Updated in real time as well as stored historically. A further feature is the ability to be alerted to SENS articles published against particular instruments.
    

9. Alerts: Set up your own alerts against any number of instruments which will notify you of price changes, volumes in excess of user defined threshold or trades taking place at prices outside of predefined limits.
    

10. Dual Screen effectively doubles the available real estate on your pc to run MarketFocus by allowing you to create two independent viewing screens and the ability to toggle between the two with a single mouse click.
